LCA salary question on extension

I have been working with Same client for last three years on H1B and my extension is being filed for the same client. But my revised LCA salary (change in role) is higher than current salary (which is per previous LCA).

My new LCA has a effective date from 5/15/2013, so should my salary be changed or that doesn't apply till Extension is approved.
