L2 to F1 visa with ongoing Green Card application

I recently relocated on an L1A visa and my son started his college in the US on an L2 visa. He is currently 17. I understand that for him to do OPT or CPT at college, he must have employment authorization or be on an F1 visa. While I am talking to my employer for a green card, I have the following queries, and would be grateful for your guidance:

  1. If I move my son to an F1 visa and file my I-140 (premium processing) for a green card after that -
  • can I add my child to the green card application?
  • when in such a case current date arrives, can he then move from F1 to a Green Card?
  • At what stage can I apply for EAD for him and me?
  1. If I file a green card application now along with my son:
  • can I move him to F1 before I-140 approval or shall I wait?
  • At what stage can I apply EAD for him and me?

Anything else I should be aware, and that can help me in my discussion with my employer?

Many thanks in advance!
