Bhuvi Posted June 19 Report Share Posted June 19 I have an active H1B with an approved I140. My husband also has an approved I140, If I try to convert my visa status to H4 EAD, 1. What are the current processing times? Can the conversion happen through a external attorney rather than employer company attorney? 2. RK14 Posted June 21 Report Share Posted June 21 The current processing times are varies based on the service center, it is taking anywhere 5-12 months based on the service center, you can change status from H1 to H4 based on your spouse approved I140 by filing change of status along with H4 EAD, if you did find new employer you can file back change of status to H1b along with your approved I140, you do not needed to go lottery again!
