h1btog4toh1b
I was on H1b visa from September 2008 to December 2016 (more than 8 years) and have I140 approved in 2013. In Jan 2017, i changed to G-4 visa and work with the international organization. The current assignment will end in few months ith the International organization. I want to understand my options. - Can a new employer file for a H1b visa under cap exempt without going through the lottery as i have a I140 approved - Upon approval of H1B (change of status from G4 to H1b), do i have to go out of country for the visa stamping ? - Can i continue to work in G4 till the approval of the h1b. - Incase, H1b is not approved, can i continue working in G4 visa with the international organization. - Can some other employer file employment based green card for me while working in G4 Quote Link to comment
NotAnAttorney
1. Yes 2. Not required, but you coudl work only after the approval. You should be always maintaining status. 3. You need to maintain your G4 until your H1B is approved. 4. Yes. 5. Yes Quote Link to comment
