Recently got L2 visa, while in USA on H4. Should I travel outside US before applying for EAD?

Hi,

I am currently in USA on H4 visa (my husband is on H1B). He was recently approved L1 visa and we have got our passports stamped with L visas now. Since I am now eligible for EAD, should I be travelling out of USA and re-enter before applying EAD, or can I initiate application even now?

Would appreciate any response!
