Travel on H4 During cooling period

Hi,

my L1 a is currently expiring and am planning to go out of country for a year , come back and work on H4 Ead. This one year cooling will help to apply for next H1 b lottery.

my spouse is currently on H1b with approved i140 so I am eligible for H4 Ead.

my question is can I come for a short week trip on h4 during cooling period, apply for Ead and go back?

 

hoping this should help me to have an Ead once I come back after cooling period, and does not need to wait in h4.

Better to stay in USA until you get H4 visa, because you will not able to come to US if any RFE happens to your visa if you are out of country.
