pulibidda007 Posted July 18, 2016 Report Share Posted July 18, 2016 So my wife got her H4 EAD and she applied for SSN. But the SSN says "For work authorization only" or something to that effect. Just like how I got mine when I worked part time on my F1 back in the day. Is that what she was supposed to receive? Would it prevent her from starting a small business? Anyone with H4 EAD and got an SSN after the EAD has the same experience? Link to comment
JoeF Posted July 19, 2016 Report Share Posted July 19, 2016 That's the wording on the social security card until you have a GC. The USCIS authorization is an I-94 showing a status that allows to work, like an H1, or an EAD. Link to comment
