nikki19
Hello everyone, Like everyone, benefited a lot from Murthy forum. So, wanted to share my experience. My interview was at 1:45pm. Visa interviews were conducted at 4 counters (counters 5,6,7,8). Counter 5 - American lady (mostly calling visitors visa applicants). Counter 6 - Asian guy Counter 7 - Asian guy Counter 8 - American guy. I was praying that my token number should be served at counter 5 (American lady). She seemed very friendly. But my number was assigned at counter 7 (Asian guy). Interview went like this. Me: Hello Sir, how are you? VO: I'm good. How are you? Me: Fine, thank you Sir. VO: Are you XXXX? Me: Yes Sir. VO: How long have you been in Canada? Me: (Was not expecting this question. So, thought for a second and said) Its been two days. VO: Why are you in Canada? Me: (Was not expecting this also). For H1-B stamping. VO: Only for stamping, that's it? Me: If I get time, I will go around Toronto. VO: What does XXX (my employer) do? Me: XXX provides.......(finished in a single sentence). VO: Who is your client? Me: YYY. VO: What do you do for YYY? Me: I work for them as ZZZ. VO: How long have you been with YYY? Me: Its been one and half years. VO: Is there an end date for the project you are on with your client? Me: Yes, MMM-2014. VO: Okay, your visa is approved. You can collect the passport in 3-5 business days. Me: (All smiles) Thank you. You have a very great day Sir! Me: What about my I-797 Sir? VO: (Before I could finish my sentence) You pick it up along with your passport. Me: Okay, thank you. Just came out of the Embassy in slight tears! Not even a single document was asked for proof during the interview. When I called my employer back with the news, they said my interview was probably just a formality. The VO had already done enough research in my case. I am on EVC model and I don't work in the field of Computer Science/IT. I submitted my DS-160 five days before the interview. Before the actual interview, I was given a token @ another counter (counter 3). And the officer at that counter took my DS-160, passport and I-797. She wrote something like 'PIMS O/L' on my DS-160. BTW, my client is a big telecom MNC. All the best to everyone! Just be confident. Best, Nikki Link to comment
