What happens to approved I-140 if Company Splits?

Hi Experts,

 

One of my family member was working for Company A and had his I-140 approved with them. Now the Division he was working in, is splitting from the parent Company A and being formed as a new independent Company B.

 

The question is, what is the status of the approved I-140 from Company A, does the GC process need to start all over again, or there can be some portability of the approved I-140/Priority Date from the original GC process.
