ssainv
Hello, I am currently in my second semester on H4. I want to convert to F1 by the end of this semester. 1)Recently my H4 visa got extension but I dont have a h4 stamping right now. So can i apply for COS in this case? Will this be a problem? Or should i get H4 stamped and then apply to COS for F1.? 2) My school asked me to show XX,XXX$ in bank statements to get i20 from them. But can i show this amount from india? will this be a risk to get F1 approval? 3) If i go India and apply F1 there what will be my problems regarding funding, and no H4 visa stamp. Are there more chances to get my F1 rejected if i apply in India? Link to comment
jairichi
1. You can apply for COS to F1 now. 2. Yes, you can. 3. Should not be an issue as long as you have all required documents. Link to comment

itsmeusa
1. Yes 2. No risk, but as you are already in US, they may ask you how exactly you would bring that money in US. 3. No issues to apply F1 there. If rejected, you can go for H4 visa interview. But why take this route when you are already in US. Link to comment
