Can employment continue after EAD expiry based on USCIS receipts? I guess I9 updation cannot accept receipt doc, but still checking with you... thx! Link to comment

Belle Posted March 15, 2013 Report Share Posted March 15, 2013 If you continue to work past the expiration, your employment will be unauthorized. Now, the question you should ask is whether continuing is going to be harmful for you or your employer. Generally, unauthorized employment of up to 180 days won't impact your case. Your employer, though, should not be employing you without confirmation of your athorization because it is hard to claim they did not know you did not have authorization, since, technically, they know your expiration date. Do I think anyone will ever come after your employer over that? Absolutely not. Link to comment
