When to apply GC

Hi all,

Thnx for wonderful services provided. I am presently in H1B expiring on Nov 12 2013 [will be completing 6 yr in US on this date].

1) With this, should GC be initiated prior to Nov 12 2012? or its not mandatory if i want to continue the stay in US.

2) Is this the case even if they do premium processing?

for your reply. i know that GC can be initiated right now. my question was what will be the deadline date for me to apply GC. Can GC be initiated anydate before 12 Nov 2013 or it has to be done before 12 Nov 2012 or any other date?

I would recommend applying it before Nov 12th 2012 as in the worst case scenario of PERM Audit, you require 365 days of PERM in progress to be eligible for 1 year H1 extension.
