221G Blue form passport submitted but still waiting 18 days

Hello,

I received a mail from Chennai consulate on Apr 30th with a blue form asking to send in passport for visa.

I have submitted my passport on may 1st. But still haven't received it yet. Vfs passport status says "your passport is in process at US consulate"

Does it take this long? its been more than 18 days.

Do i need to worry? Any one faced same situation waited such long?

Does they ask you to submit additinal doc. to them. Could you share your intw experience in details plz..

In the blue form they have email me, "Please Send in passport for visa" was hand written.

Along with my passport i have submitted a copy of i797, DS160, i129 and LCA. Hyderabad vfs guy told that they just need copies, originals are not required, he also said photo is not required.

Still waiting haven't heard anything 21 days now. :(

My wife also got 221g blue form with case no. from Chennai consulate. Below items are checked on the form

"Your application requires additional information as indicated below. Please be sure to submit all the documents listed from serial 1-5.

...."

"You may submit the additional documents via drop box using VFS Services. ..."

Also hand written as "Send Passport" below it.

So does she need to submit any Photo and copies of DS-160, I-129, I-179, LCA?

By the way @H1b221Ghelp , did you got ur visa stamping and if so how many days it took to receive your passport back after submitting.

@bogu001 can you please tell me the date of the interview.I also attended on Feb 17 with 221gBlue AAP at chennai,still now no updates from the consulate.Can you please give me more details on your case?

Interview was on Feb 23rd at Chennai. Have patience you may get soon...
