H1 b Visa approved and waiting for passport - Help pls

I went for my H1(Extension) Visa stamping on Feb 9th 2012 at Chennai consulate and the visa officer said Visa has been approved.

But still I am waiting for the passport .When i tracked in VFS site it says it is under process in US embassy/Consulate.

Usually how long does it take for getting the passport after the visa appointment?Can you pls share your experiences.

It might have gone for additional administrative processing. I guess it might take anywhere between 2 weeks to 2 months.

@rekharaj: From a few posts I have seen people stating they got their passports between 4days and 2weeks. Rare cases it took longer. All the best!

Feb 6th 2012 Hyderbad ...VO said I will receive my passport in 3-5 business days and still waiting..

VO did not ask for any additional documents or No 221g is issued.

Still do u think that It might have gone for additional administrative processing???

Don't worry. If there is no 221g involved you should get in 2 weeks. Most probably you may have it in your hand next week. Let us hope so.

Any update whether u received your passport yet?

I had my VI on feb 17, 2012, i was approved VISA, and am now waiting for passport. I'm FTE

Today is a holiday for Consulate (President's Day). I am too hoping something will click next week.

Thank God .I collected my passport today evening.

Visa stamping date: 9 Feb 2012

Received passport with Visa: Feb 21st 2012.
