L2 EAD Renewal question

Here are my details:

Am on a L2 Visa with EAD.

L1A/L2 expiring on 07/12/2011

My L2 EAD expiring on 07/12/2011

My Husband's company has applied for the L1A/L2 extension.

I have applied for my EAD renewal and got my biometrics appointment.

Will I have to wait till the L1A/L2 extensions are approved or can I send the existing documents with the receipt notice for the L1A/L2 extension as evidence?

And if my EAD expires before I get the renewed one, can I go on disability leave till I get my new EAD?( I just had a baby and am eligible for disability leave).
