Start Gren Card

I am on H1B visa. Completed 4.5 years in US. I have remaining 1.5 years left on my visa to expire 6 years of H1B validity. I am going me switch my job this month and my new employer assured that they will start my GC after 6 months. Please let me know the ideal timeframe to start GC processing.

This might be a tight case becasue employer needs 365 days i.e year validity on H1 Visa to apply for Labor. Before Labor they should do advertisement and other things. So G.C process should start before 6 months of your joining to be on safer side. Pls contact a knowledgeable person before making this move.
