L1-H1 stamping while in US for fresh quota

Hi,

Situation: This is my visit to US and now I am working on L1 visa. If my H1b for fresh quota which starts from APR 2012 is approved before june or july 2012.

Question 1: Am I eligible to go for Visa stamping in Vancouver or India immediately or shall I wait for stamping till OCT 2012?

Question 2: If I am eligible to go for stamping before OCT 2012 and H1b visa is rejected, can I conitune working on L1 visa or will they make both L1 and H1b void?

Question 3: Will the staus be changed from L1 to H1 with immediate effect by deafult?If not, When my status will change from L1 to H1?Is there any separate procedure to change the status from L1 to H1 after H1 is approved?If so, what is the procedure and howlong it will take?
