Can i start working when my change of status is applied from h4 to h1b visa

Hi,

I am on H4 visa status with H1B visa approval pending change of status. I have recently got job and they are expecting me to join next week, my employer had already filed LCA for me and they will be filing H1B amendment that is change of visa status from H4 to H1B. My question is when it is change of status is filed can i start working. And if i start working and there is query on H1B amendment then what are my options.

In summary:

Current status: H4 visa

H1b Visa status: approved without change of status

Question1: Can i start working when change of status from H4 to H1 visa status is applied?

Question2: If i start working when H4 to H1 change of status is applied and later there is a query or issue then what are my options?
