Applying 485 along with H1-B extension

Hello All,

My H1-B is expiring on January 9th 2012, and I did send all required documents for the extension to my lawyer last week. My I-140 got approved long back and my priority date to apply I-485 is october 2007. Last week to apply the I-485, the priority date moved to November 1st 2007. Now I am eligible to apply 485 on1st of November.

I am planning to apply 485 on the first week of November 2010, and my question is, do I need to keep My H1 -B extension processing also on the parrellel along with 485 processing ? If extnsion is not required I will ask my lawyer not to process H1 extnesion and apply only 485? Not sure if my 485 is not approved with in the 2 months period what will happen to my status with not applying H1-B extension.
