Pzau
I filed for my OPT extension about 2 months back...then my employer decided to file for H1B. The problem is that my H1B got approved before my OPT renewal came through. Now I have an H1B approved receipt and a renewed EAD card. Should I be worried? If so, what needs to be done to cancel my EAD and have the H1B valid. Thanks! Link to comment
Worker11
Now you are no longer F1 (OPT) non-immigrant stud. Now you are H1B non immigrant worker. Make sure to be prepared to file I-140, if you want to become permanent resident. Link to comment
Joe.F
OPT is part of the F1, it is not a status on its own. From the start date of the H1, you are no longer on F1, and your OPT will be invalid from that date on. Link to comment
