avipops Posted January 19, 2021 Report Share Posted January 19, 2021 I am a STEM student graduating in May. I am currently in India since the school classes are online due to COVID. Normally, the individual needs to be in the US to apply for the OPT. I am trying to understand if I should plan to travel to US to apply for the OPT or if it would be acceptable to apply remotely (submit a signed scanned application). Would you recommend travelling to the US to apply for the OPT or can I apply form India? Do you see concerns / risk of OPT rejection if I apply while I am in India. Thank you.
