H1B Stamping Renewal with Change of Employer

Hi - I am currently making travel plans to India and am considering an offer. My current company has filed and I have received the approved I797A to extend my work authorization, but my H1B stamping is expired. If I do change companies and roles, when I do make a trip to India, will I still be eligible for dropbox with new employer (since my stamping expired only in August?). Also, does anyone here have experience with getting a new stamping after employer change during the covid era? Will there potentially be any issues because of this (interview call etc.), or has their experience been straightforward?

Please provide details as I am keen to change but concerned because of the current delicate visa processing situations.
