March 15,2021: Finger Print appointment March 16,2021: Consular appointment As of today I havent received any cancellation email from consulate. I am planning to travel to India on Feb end or March 1st week so that i can be home quarantine for two weeks as per local govt rules. My question is: If my visa slot gets cancelled after I landed in India (lets say March 10) and if it takes more than 6 months from March 10 to get new appointment (lets say August 10, 2021), any issues i will be facing at US port of entry as it will be more than 3 months that I had worked out side the US. Due to pandemic my employer could not initiate stamping on passport for my h1b the petition os valid from oct 2020 to sep 2023. I heard in h1 i can stay maximum 6 yrs. So does this 6 year calculate the time i am outside Usa? or the clock will start from petition approved date i.e. oct 2020 in my case..please advise. I contacted to passport seva but they didn't give me satisfactory answer. Quote Link to comment
