RBPT
Hi, My wife is travelling to India with my son. My son is 6 yrs old. Their visas expired on 5/25/2019. When I am scheduling for visa interview, I have added my son also with her. I answered the questions and system shown that she is eligible for visa interview waiver. The drop box confirmation page shows my son details also. I called ustraveldocs to confirm, but they were saying that my wife is eligible, but my son is not eligible. The questions I answered were specific to primary applicant which is my wife. For my son to eligible, they were saying both parents should have valid visas. I am the primary applicant currently staying in USA and I have valid H1B 797 petition valid through May 2021. In 2016, my wife and son got their visa from visa interview waiver facility. They did not attend the interview. That time also, our visas were expired on 09/2015. But my wife submitted documents for my son also and they accepted and issued visa. 1. Is that correct that my son is not eligible for drop box since both of parents don't have valid visa and he is under 14 years old? 2. Are rules changed for visa interview waiver program after 2016? Appreciate your response. Thank you Quote Link to comment
