Clarification regarding 240 day rule period

Hello, my husband had got his h1b petition and visa approved till august 2020 and he travelled to US last march 2018. But since his location had to be changed from New jersey to tampa his company had to file a location change amendment in order for him to work in new location. The LCA amendment got approved but the petition end date got truncated from august 2020 to dec 2018. So again the company has filed for the extension of his petition and we are yet to recieve the outcome. But we have our i94 still valid till august 2020. So our question is will the 240 day rule apply to us? Since the 240 day rule starts only on the expiry of i94 will this rule be applicable in our case? We need a clarification on this. Will he be able to work till his i94 expiry?

Per your i-94 you are good until AUG 2020. I may be wrong but 240 day rule does not apply to you as you have a valid i-94 but do check with USCIS customer service or attorney to be safe.
