Hello everyone,

I got my H1 B picked in Master's quota and i got an RFE saying that ' the beneficiary doesn't qualify for master's cap exemption because the record doesn't establish the university as a non profit organization'.

and they asked to send documents that shows i earned a master's degree from a US instiution of higher education as defined at 20 U.S.C 1001(a). and relevant documents.

The univ which i did masters has recently (around 7 years back) changed from college to univ.

Does anyone know about this kind of RFE. any help is appreciated.

Care to tell us which Institution this is?
As per the law, for the Master's quota, the degree has to be from an accredited, public or non-profit private university. If the institution was for-profit when you got the degree you can not use the degree for the Master's quota. That's also what the RFE says. Tou would have to show that the institution is accredited, and is a public or non-profit private university.
