H1-B Approved for 4 months from the date of approval notice

Hi Team,

My H1B expired June 27 2018, i have filed my extension on Apr 24 2018 and my petition has been approved on Nov 6, 2018.

But the validity on I-797 is till Mar 6th 2019 which leaves only 4 months from approval date. What might be the reason for it.

My LCA which was filed has validity till Oct 2020.

My current project is done and i am about to report to a new client with amendment to be initiated. 

I am bit puzzled on the next steps. Please provide your valuable suggestions.

Your previous H1 Expired on June 27 2018 so the new one is approved from June 28 2018 to Mar 6 2019. Not 4 months if i am not wrong. Next step is to submit extension request again in Mar 2019.

Youe employer need to file an extension+amendment with new client now.

I did check if they can file amendment and extension with Nebraska center. They said that Amendment + Extension cannot be filed in premium.

They asked me to first file amendment and then file extension.
