H1B to L1A

I am on H1B visa approved till Sep 2020 and have an approved I140 have completed my 6 years tenure
Now I have a job offer from another company.
So if I join them with H1B receipt (since their is no premium processing for now ) and in FEB19 when the premium processing opens the new company will do the premium processing for the H1B and then after an year they will apply for a L1A visa for me
Do you see any problem with switching from H1B to L1A if I stay in USA or do I need to exit the country and then re-enter ?
After which if they file my GC on L1A is there any complication or do I need to stay out of USA for a certain period of time ?

Hmm, for an L1, you ha e to have worked abroad for the employer for at least a year in the last 3 years. You can't just change from H1 to L1 after 6+ years on H1.
