ariela_dm
Hello, I am French and I am working for a US based company in Paris. During my employment I travelled once in US under B1/B2 for business purposes (It was an offsite event in US hold by my company) and lived in US for 18 months under a J1 visa. When my J1 expired I came back to Paris and I am already 6 months here. This year my company applied for an H1B and I was selected in the lottery and now my visa is under RFE. I would like to go and visit my friends in US in November but i worry that my immigration history and especially my H1B visa application might cause me issue. Do you think that I will be fine in crossing the boards? Link to comment
Provence
If your purpose is to visit US friends, you have a valid visa to do so. Be truthful to CBP about your purpose. Do not attempt to change status. Bear in mind anyone except US Citizens can be denied entry for any reason. Carry proof of your ties to France when seeking US entry, though those ties appear weak with an intent to work in the US. Link to comment
