F1 to H1B status change, After H1B extension approval.

Currently I am on Initial H1B status and it expires this month end.
I have filed for extension 1month ago and waiting for the decision from USCIS. If the decision has a positive outcome I can continue working with my H1B normally, if not I should depart from U.S

So in this case, I am planning to join university, do my Masters and transfer my SEVIS to that university. During that period, IF my H1B extension gets APPROVED, will my status be transferred automatically from F1 to H1B ?

Please help me with this,

If your current h1 ends on Sept 31st & approved new h1 start date is from Oct 1, though you joined the school, you will continue on H-1 and can drop out from school.
