CoolBuddy2018
I am currently in USA on H4 visa stamped (Expires Jan 2020) in India passport. I got French Citizenship recently and need to collect my French passport from France Embassy in USA. As per India law I need to surrender my India passport in Indian Embassy USA after getting another country citizenship. Questions: 1. What will happen to my H4 status and existing visa valid until Jan 2020? Do I need to apply for H4 extension or amendment for change to citizenship? 2. Do I need to leave US and stamp new H4 visa in French passport and come back? Link to comment
JoeF
You continue to be on H4. The I-94 determines that, not the visa. If you travel abroad you most likely have to get a new H4 visa in your French passport. Link to comment
