Employment termination 60 days grace period: H1B extension pending, I-94 will expire soon

Hi, My employer gave the notice of termination for July 31st, 2018. My current H1B and I-94 expires on August 7th, 2018. My employer filed for my H1B extension in May which is pending for approval. My question is regarding the 60 days grace period. Is it valid in my case? I.e. can I stay in the USA till September end (60 days from July end) to look for a job? Or I have to leave on 7th Aug due to expiry of my current I-94? Will truly appreciate prompt reply.

The grace period ends when the I-94 expired.

Grace period is 60 days from the last day at work or I-94 expiration, whichever is shorter.
