MP1225 Posted May 22, 2018 Report Share Posted May 22, 2018 My H1 got selected but unfortunately my SEVIS was not updated. When I applied for cap gap extension i20 My DSO said SEVIS was not updated and you are not authorized to get cap gap extension. I called to SEVIS and they said they didn’t get any update from USCIS regarding H1B selection. I have sent an email to DSO with my I797C and screen shot of ‘case was received’ text from USCIS. But DSO refused to email to USCIS with my details to get my SEVIS updated and stated that until my SEVIS updated they will not provide extension i20 but it’s been like more than 10 days still nothing was updated. My opt is going end on June 11th and I dropped my college plans since my h1 got selected. I read some where some time it happens due integrations and over flow of data from USCIS to SEVIS. Here are my questions: 1) How can I get my SEVIS update ? 2) If SEVIS not updated and my OPT expiration date is on June 11th. What are my options to be in status and work ? 3) Is there a possibility of working with out getting my SEVIS updated ? Link to comment
