We have applied for H4-F1 change of status and the receipt states that they have received the case in Sept 22, 2017. We have called USCIS and they mentioned that currently March, 2017 applications are under process. She is currently studying on her H-4 and she is in her second semester. However, she is planning to do internship to again some practical training.

  • Any idea on how long this change of status might take?
  • As an alternative thinking to travel out of country to get F-1 stamping and come back on F-1.
  • Do we need to re-pay the sevis fees to get a new I-20 for stamping if she is travelling to get F-1 stamping done? We paid the Sevis fees originally when the college gave an I-20 to apply for COS in August, 2017.
  • Please, suggest what is the best course of action to take
