HYD- Consulate: Passport Taken, Told they need 3 days to approve my Visa

Hi,

I had a visa interview today 12/28/17 at Hyderabad Consulate. Below are the questions I was asked.

VO: You work for XYZ company ?
Me: yes

VO: is XYZ the end client ?
ME: I work for XYZ as a full-time employee.

VO: Where do you work ?
ME: In San Jose.

VO: What is your salary per annum?
Me: x amount per annum.

VO: Have you done masters?
Me: Yes I did at XYZ University.

VO: VO wrote something one white paper and put it in my passport and said ok you can leave now , it will take extra 3 days for processing.
ME: Is it approved ?

VO: It will take extra 3 days to for us to approve your visa. If you haven't heard from us in 3 days then it's approved.
ME: Thank you sir and I left.

Background:
I worked as a consultant previously. my employer filed amendments for previous project but before it was processed I switched to full time and H1B transfer was approved. I scheduled visa interview after transfer is approved.

For the period I worked as Consultant (9 months) before I switched to full time there are no amendments that are processed. 

Not sure if this is 221(g). I didn't get any slip though. The status shows "Administrative Processing".

Has anyone faced this before. I read they can ask for extra documentation. 

I had employment verification letter but didn't give it to him as he didnt ask.
