Change of employment for OPT student while H1B petition is pending?

I am on OPT employed with company A who has filed my H1b petition (premium) but I want to quit the company A (due to other factors) and start working under company B on OPT, would my OPT status automatically convert to H1B if the petition is not revoked by employer by the time i transfer to company B ? or will i be liable to work for company A if H1B is approved ?

Will i have to option of choosing between OPT and H1B, if the H1b is approved?

Would updating university and USCIS about change of employment be enough or any other intricacies will be involved?
