Bringing spouse and child of F1 student

Hi,

I have started my MBA from this fall (Fall 2014). I am thinking of applying for my wife and son as F2. I have four question:

1. Do I need a separate passport, visa application and visa application fee for my son, who is 5 month old?

2. My wife have my bank statement from my home country that reflects enough money to cover my tuition, expanse and their living cost. My university granted that for issuing their I 20. Since, the statement is less than three month old do I need to send them another statement from my US bank account (In that case I need to open one because I do not have any)?

3. Can anyone else sponsor for my spouse and child from here or can my wife sponsor herself? 

4. If I change my university between their visa approval and arrival who I need to inform?

1. Yes.

2. You can ask your bank from home country to reissue a fresh one.

3. No. You need to be in a position to take care of them. If not F2 visa will be denied.

4. They need to update US consulate about it.
