Can I register to be a full time student in F1 visa taking online classes - 9 credits or more 2. If I do register as a Full time F1 student taking online courses - will I be eligible for CPT/OPT? JoeF Posted October 21, 2014 Report Share Posted October 21, 2014 On F1, only 3 credits are allowed online. For all other credits, you have to be going to the actual classrooms. Forget CPT. No real university gives that out to somebody just signing up. And since OPT is part of the F1, you can NOT get OPT if you study online. Link to comment
