Please help!! Travel via USA with F1

I have F1 visa until 2017. My H1 got approved this year and I am planning to get my stamping done in Jamaica in the month of November 2014. In the worst case scenario, If I get a 221g!! Can I travel via USA to India?

Your F1 visa might be canceled by US consulate and you need a visitor visa to transit via US to India.

If you think you may get a denial, get the stamping done in your home country.

No, get your visa from your home country.

Or, try it in Jamaica (as many people have done) and be prepared to go from Jamaica to India if there is a refusal.

Your F1 visa will not be cancelled and you can still use that visa to come back USA.Recently one of my friend got 221g in Jamaica and returned to USA on F1 visa which is about to expire in Dec 2014. Once he returned to USA and checked his H1 visa status online. It says approved and immediately he went back to Jamaica from the airport itself and got his visa successfully.
