H1b Stamping experience on Aug 25th 2014 in Jamaica (No Client Letter).

Hi All,

 

I had interview at 7.00 am on Aug 25th in Jamaica. Reached embassy by 6.30 am and they let us go through security and were seated inside the embassy by 6.45 am. Finger print officer started taking the finger prints at 7.00 am. Once gave the finger prints, was in line for interview.

 

 

Client Letter

 

I did not have client letter. But i had a letter from preferred Vendor and my client gave me an email stating that they do not provide any documentation and preferred vendor would take care of all the documentation.

 

NOTE1:There are no layers between my employer and preferred vendor

 

NOTE2:  I was not asked my client letter in the interview.

 

My Interview Questions

 

1)  Are you from OBT?  ...

 

  Ans:  No. I worked for about 8 years in India before arriving to USA on H1b

 

2) Is it on this petition?

 

Ans:  No. I changed my employer last year.

 

3) Can i see your old petitions and W2s.

 

Ans:  Provided all of my w2s and old petitions.

 

4) Why did you not come along with your family?. They are supposed to come for stamping too.

 

Ans:  My family would get stamping done when they visit India as they would stay 1 to 2 months when they go to India. But when i visit India i would have to get back to work in 1 to 2 weeks as i do not get longer vacation.

 

5) When is your return flight?

 

Ans:  Aug 28th.

 

Gave me a red slip with 2 pm (Wed, 27th Aug) on it and told me to pick up the passport on Wed.
