Live4GC
Hello, One of the benefits of I-824 says: To notify a different U.S consulate or port of entry of a petition/application approved by the Service Center (other than the one listed on the original filing). Initially while filing for extension, I requested for consulate in India. I got my approval with I-94 attached to it. Now, can i go to canada for stamping ? Should me or my employer file a I-824 before that ? Can someone with recent canada experience answer ? - Thanks Link to comment
Attorney_6
While the approval notices say an I-824 is needed, it is not actually used when applying for a nonimmigrant visa stamp. The information about the approval is stored in the centralized PIMS system, accessible to the consulates. The individual is expected to bring the approval notice etc. Link to comment
