Cruise to Mexico - H1B not stamped

Hello and thank you in advance for whatever help you guys might be able to extend to me.

My H1B was approved in 2013 and I have not been back to India since then which means that my H1B has not been stamped. I recently got married to an American Citizen and we would like to take a Royal Carribean Cruise which goes to Cozumel, Mexico for 24 hours.

My questions are as follows:

  1. Do I need a visa to travel to Mexico?
  2. Will I be able to reenter USA without a stamped visa?

Once again I appreciate any comments or suggestions that you might send my way.

Hello guys,

** Have expired H1-B visa on Passport (Company A)

** Have approved H1-B Extension I-797 till 2017 (Company B). Visa not stamped.

I am planning to go Mexico on a one week cruise vacation and planning to re-enter using ‘Automatic Visa Revalidation’ (AVR) process. I have a question on the AVR applicability while re-entering US. Are there any issues if I have expired visa from Company A and the extension from Company B ?

Can anyone please advise, this helps a lot. Thanks in advance.

Thanks much!
