pgpg1
HI Experts, Need your advise to know the following questions : 1)I am a US citizen and my parents are in US as permanent residents. I need to apply for their citizenship whats are the steps as i was reading the eligibility criteria and they do qualify for 900 days in US but they do have trips where they have been outside US for more then six months. 2)My parents do not work and are dependent on me so is it advisable to apply for US citizenship or renewal their greencard? 3) Both parents are above 70 yrs plus and do not speak english could they still be eligible to apply for US citizenship and avoid the US citizenship exam requirement in family based citizenship application Appreciate any inputs. With Best Regards, PG Link to comment
JoeF
There is no such thing as "family-based citizenship." Citizenship applications are the same for everybody. There is a provision for elderly to not having to do the English test. See the USCIS website under naturalization. Link to comment
