L2 EAD Renewal while processing a I-140

Hi,

I am currently in my second year of L1-A visa and my wife is working with her L2 - EAD. I am also proceeding with my I-140 process. It has not yet been approved. My wife's L2 EAD renewal is early next year. Now if my I-140s is approved prior to that, should I be proceeding with the L2 EAD renewal? How should I handle this I-140 vs L2 EAD? thanks for your responses.
