MattSmith
Hello, My husband is a graduate student on F-1 and I am here with F-2 visa. I was a researcher in my country but I have done nothing that violates my status since I’ve moved here. I have two questions and I would appreciate if you answer them: 1. If I have (un-paid) collaboration with a US university faculty member and publish the results of our research in a conference or in a journal (outside or inside US), is it considered as F2 violation? I won’t be paid for this and I should pay the conference registration fee out of my pocket. 2. I would like to change my status from F2 to F1. Since this process might take a few months, if I publish any paper co-authored with my future advisor, is it considered as F2 violation? Thank you so much in advance. Link to comment
