While 221g - New petition and approval - VISA interview

Hello experts,

 

I have a quick question about VISA interview. If there is current 221g for H1-B ( H1 petition documents asked and is under review), Can I apply for another H1 B Visa interview with a new approved petition with consular processing? Will the current processing 221g have any impact on new H1 interview? 

 

 Also, I read about H1-B candidates requesting for expedite H1-B interview appointment. How can I request this? Does this need to come from petitioner(employer)? what is the process?

 

Also, as I don't see any dates sooner in India, is it advisable to go to other countries for VISA stamping if there is current 221g?

new approved petition is from different employer? whats the reason for 221g ? is that a EVC model?

You need to withdraw first application from consulate. You can apply for another interview with different employer if one is under process because of 221g.

Yes if the petition is approved from new employer.

 

221g was issued to submit all H1 petition files (LCA,I129, MSAs) and its undergoing Admin processing.

 

How this withdrawal can be done from consulate? Can I do it or Employer has to do it? 

 

So how to expedite VISA interview appointment date, as I do not see dates sooner in India. Can I visit any other country for VISA stamping?

Please do not visit other country. Withdraw can be done only from consulate. But i would suggest you to wait. Most likely 221g is going to resolve soon..

Thank you for the information. I am still waiting for the response from Consulate. Its been over a month I have submitted documents and no online status update so far.
