Naturalization for spouse without the primary holder

I came to US on L1. My spouse joined me in US after 6 months on L2, got her EAD and has been working in US since then. We have got our GCs in 2011 - I am the primary GC holder and my wife & my kids have got their GCs as my dependents. This year we are eligible to apply for our US citizenship. I am not very keen on taking the citizenship, but my wife is.

 

My question is - can my wife apply for US citizenship without me (primary GC holder)? Will there be any risk in doing so? If she can, I think my kids will automatically become US citizens and can apply for US passports along with her..is my understanding correct?

Sure she can. It is completely independent of your decision.
