H1 Stamping Consulate when I-94 is not approved

Hi,

 

I am currently living in USA on H1 and I got my H1 transfer approval with out I-94 attached so I will have to leave the country for stamping. On the I-797B form, Consulate name is mentioned as Chennai. My closest consulate would be Hyderabad. It was mentioned on the 797 form that I should file for i-824 incase I am planning to visit a diferrent consulate other than Chennai. I booked my Visa at Hyderabad consulate. Can I go ahead and attend at Hyderabad? or Should I go to chennai mandatory? Please advise.
