Change from L1b to H1b

I had a valid H1B visa from Jan 2009-Sep 2011 and worked in the US from July 2009-Dec 2010. I was working in India from Jan 2011-Dec 2013.I reentered US in Jan 2014 on L1B visa and is presently working on L1B.

 

My question is can i switch over to my old H1B visa and work? If yes, how long can i work and what do i need to switch to H1B?

An employer has to file a cap exempt H1B petition and you are eligible for 6 years - years spent in US on L1B and H1B.
