Jake.shawn80 Posted November 4, 2015 Report Share Posted November 4, 2015 I am currently on H1 Visa. My spouse is also on H1. My H1B is until next year end and then my 6 years will be done. I believe after that I have to change to H4 status if my labour is not approved. My question is can I change my status to H4 and get back on H1 based on my spouse H1 status per new immigration option for H4 spouse. Thank you. Link to comment
JoeF Posted November 4, 2015 Report Share Posted November 4, 2015 To get a new 6 years, you would have to be outside the US for at least a year, and then an employer can file a new H1 under the quota. Simply changing to another status in the US does not give you any more H1 time. Link to comment
